Food! Always issues about food!

Food! What is good, what is bad. Will it ever end?

Too many pesticides or too much oxalic acid (in green vegetables such as kale).
Too much fat and sugar.  Too many carbs. Are they good or bad? White rice versus brown rice versus basmati rice. Does fruit have too much sugar? Are fruit juices bad for you? Is organic really completely safe? Acidic versus alkaline foods. The list goes on and on. One word...CONFUSION.

Cancer is rife! So are heart disease and diabetes. Is it to do with food? Or what's on the food? Or just food, any old food? Or maybe our minds have a lot to do with it?

My mission is to find out or to at least stay as disease free as possible.

I know one thing for sure. Dairy is BAD.

About 8 years ago I developed this terrible salty and sometimes metallic taste in my mouth. It was mystifying. I went to 3 different doctors. I got xrays. They showed nothing. The doctors didn't know what it was and gave me antibiotics...which enhanced the terrible taste. Of course they did not fix me.

I went to 2 dentists. They found nothing. I remember bursting into tears in one of the dentist's chairs...much to his surprise.

It was making me so depressed that I started to see a counsellor.

Nodody could help me. It was driving me insane.

At this time I was a 'normal' eater. I ate meat and loads of dairy...after all dairy was meant to decrease your risk of osteoporosis right?

Then one day I met this lovely lady who was not a doctor but an angel sent to me I believe. I told her my problem and she told me to stop all dairy.  Use soy milk, soy yoghurt etc if I had to.

I ceased all dairy immediately and within 24 hours the taste had gone by 50%! I was amazed and delighted!

After only a few days my problem was gone. Bless that beautiful lady.

My journey for health had started....

I live in Melbourne, Australia with my family and I have been passionate about healthy living for many years.  I'm going to love documenting my journey....
